IDEAS Forum
October 22nd, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Bowen Island Community School

The OCP Update Steering Committee will be hosting an IDEAS Forum on October 22nd 7:00PM – 9:30PM at BICS (we will formally begin at 7:15 to accommodate travellers on the 6:30 ferry). The IDEAS Forum is intended to generate discussion among Bowen’s volunteer groups, organizations and community members about the future of Bowen Island.

To encourage discussion, the Steering Committee is asking volunteer groups who serve the island-wide community to submit a discussion paper to the Steering Committee by October 11th. Formal invitation letters have been sent to volunteer groups and organizations. However, individual community members are also welcome to participate.

Groups are asked to submit discussion papers describing their particular needs, ambitions and thoughts about Bowen’s future. Submissions should be no more than 5 pages, double spaced, in length and organized under three headings: Needs; Ambitions: and Thoughts about Bowen’s Future. Discussion papers may be sent electronically to Casey Grundy at cgrundy@bimbc.ca. Once received, the discussion papers will be posted on the OCP Update website: www.bowenocpupdate.ca for public viewing.

The discussion papers will form the basis for the IDEAS Forum by identifying the collective needs, ambitions and thoughts of the many volunteers and groups who are involved in delivering programs and services to the Bowen Island community. The IDEAS Forum will help the Steering Committee and the community as a whole to gain a better sense of our individual and collective needs and ambitions, so that we can proactively move forward with the OCP Update process.

All community members are welcome to join us on October 22nd to hear from our volunteer groups.

Dave Witty
Chair, OCP Update Steering Committee
