Close to half of Bowen Island assembled in the heart of the community to experience the Olympic torch being carried from its Community School down and onto the ferry. Beginning the féte, are Bowen Island's own Morris Dancers issuing their primal elfin jig to those waiting for the run that is about to begin.
The crowd then swells as, the first torch bearer and Bowen native, Rosie Ander, enters into the thick of awaiting crowd... The rest you can catch in the video below. Powerful stuff showing the Community at a singular historic moment that will resonate in our community for a long time.
