The CAO, Mr. Hendrik Slegtenhorst, moved into his other role as the Municipality's Approving Officer in the subdivision approval process by holding a public meeting to hear new statements from the public on the present Cape Roger Curtis subdivision application before him. Council chambers was packed to overflowing for the 3 hour meeting. People outside were encouraged several times to sign up if they wished to make presentation to the Approving Officer, Mr. Slegtenhorst. The comments were wide ranging but inline with the public commentary to date. It was the first meeting the politically active public got to see Mr. Slegtenhorst in action dealing with the public and how he handles issues. If you missed the meeting and the fate of the Cape is of interest, you should watch this.
